Responsibilities
The Network Analyst designs, builds, monitors, and maintains all network servers that support medical faculty, clinical staff, and administrative support in patient care, teaching and research activities. The Network Analyst requires proficient and demonstrated technical and analytical skills for administration and maintenance of servers and the systems that reside on them.
The Network Analyst is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting server infrastructure including physical servers, virtual servers, virtualization technologies, and infrastructure support tools. This individual is also expected to have a working knowledge of server(s) back-up and recovery procedures. A commitment to ensuring mission critical systems are up and running is essential.
Essential Functions:
- Participate in the designing, implementation and support of server infrastructure including physical servers, virtual servers, virtualization technologies, and infrastructure support tools.
- Manage, support, and maintain server hardware, operating systems, and software in a primarily Windows-based environment.
- Work with users at various level of the organization to determine requirements for operational needs and information processing options.
- Perform continual assessment of available hardware/operating system enhancements and requirements to facilitate continued improvements in software capability.
- Support vendor applications systems in server environments.
- Assure existing systems are functioning properly and processing effectively according to the objectives.
- Provide analysis and use available tools to provide status reports to Server Manager
- Perform testing of new operating system software and anti-virus protection software prior to implementation.
- Assist faculty and management staff in the analysis of Information Services options to meet research and educational needs as it relates to server technology.
- Coordinate with other team members and prepare for the implementation of new applications.
- Provide support for data center operations.
- Perform administration tasks in Active Directory
- Assist with disaster recovery planning and testing, including backups and restores.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:Bachelors Degree and 3 to 5 years related experience, highly preferred. In Lieu of Bachelors degree, High School Diploma 3-5 years of relative network experience required.
