This position is responsible for all required maintenance functions within the community. The position provides support, and delivery of all preventive maintenance programs and services and ensures guidelines with state and federal requirements are met for the facility. The position ensures all plumbing, electrical, appliances, and facilities operations ensure in a proper manner. This position reports to the Community Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead in developing and implementing plans and goals
  • Oversee, assist and provide guidance to the Maintenance Technicians
  • Supervise Housekeeping staff
  • Performs routine maintenance and repairs on the facility equipment; documents hazardous conditions and equipment.
  • Follows all established safety procedures and precautions when performing maintenance service.
  • Maintains grounds and facility in good repair ensuring a safe, clean and orderly environment.
  • Replaces burned out light bulbs, exit lights, overhead lights, room call lights, etc.
  • Report all incidents/accidents in writing.
  • Establishes and follows preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Ensures maintenance supplies have been replenished in work areas as necessary.
  • Performs unscheduled maintenance tasks as directed.
  • Attends and participates in in-service education classes and staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information to assure resident rights are protected.
  • Establishes and maintains a work order system.
  • Periodically performs room checks and new resident checks on appliance, plugs & electronic checks.
  • Accepts and negotiates outside bids for contracts as directed by the Community Director.
  • Acts as a contact person for vendors performing maintenance jobs.
  • Gives input into operational and capital budgets.
  • Trains department staff and care staff on Emergency procedures.
  • Moves heavy furniture, boxes, and equipment.
  • Adherence to State Life-Safety Policy and work with life safety inspector, implements necessary changes as required by state.
  • Works with Administrator on Plan of Correction in the event there is a life safety deficiency.
  • Travel between multiple locations.
  • Be available for on-call as needed.
  • Snow removal, Lawn mowing, Outdoor clean-up and repairs.
  • Trimming/disposal of overhanging branches and any waste on property.
  • Indoor/outdoor repairs to capability.
  • Moving/removing of any heavy objects.
  • Maintenance of vehicles that are property owned.
  • Performs additional assigned duties at the direction of the Community Director.

Requirements:

  • High School or equivalent
  • Post-secondary or technical training is preferred.
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Must maintain confidentiality regarding resident & proprietary information.
  • Ability to relate professionally & work cooperatively with residents & staff at all levels.
  • Holds a valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, lift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
