The Respiratory Therapy Manager is responsible for day-to-day leadership, supervision, and oversight of hospital and clinic respiratory care service lines. Responsibilities include but are not limited to operations, staffing, budget control, process improvement, materials management, problem-solving, and customer relations. Service lines include Respiratory Therapy, Echocardiography, EKG, EEG, and Sleep Medicine. Oversees and performs diagnostic tests of cardiovascular and pulmonary systems to aid physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and lung disorders. The manager works constructively with other hospital department managers and hospital executive staff. The manager reports directly to the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer in planning and reviewing budget processes, assuring regulatory compliance, maintaining and developing information systems, reviewing and maintenance of financial performance and expense goals, and assisting with the development and implementation of new services. He/She provides managerial support by assisting department staff with day-to-day issues to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes. The manager develops staffing schedules to assure that standards of care are met in a financially responsible manner. The manager is expected to maintain bedside respiratory therapy skills and provide patient care support as deemed necessary.
