Assistant Warehouse Manager

The Role: 

Grandpa Joe's Candy Shop is looking for an experienced Assistant Warehouse Manager at our Robinson Township location. The candidate will be required to manage our approximately 45 warehouse team members, our processes, and be an integral part of the implementation of a new warehouse management inventory & ordering control system. 

Being an Assistant Warehouse Manager also means you will work closely with other warehouse team members and managers and lead them to meet, and even exceed productivity targets. This role requires a great communicator and team leader, as you will be your team's main point of contact. This role is critical to the growth of both our Retail Stores and our expanding Wholesale business.

We rely on our Warehouse Managers to be responsible for the health and safety of our team members.  Previous & extensive experience working within a warehouse and an absolute understanding of the basic operations of a warehouse are required.  Training & experience in fundamental warehouse operations, OSHA regulations and a forklift certification is preferred.

Responsibilities: 

- Manage daily operations of the warehouse, including goods in, order fulfillment, and goods out. 

- Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations in line with our company’s standards, policies, and vision. 

- Implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficient flow of operations and utilization of space. 

- Lead a team of warehouse staff including performance management, training, and development. 

- Ensure effective and safe use of warehouse equipment. 

- Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security in the work environment. 

- Review and prepare workflow, manning, and space requirements. 

- Monitor inventory levels and maintain stock control systems. 

- Liaise with suppliers and transport companies. 

- Plan and implement logistical strategy, ensuring targets are met. 

Job Requirements: 

- Team Leader with proven track record in a warehouse environment. 

- Proven work experience as a Warehouse Manager or similar role. 

- Strong knowledge of warehouse Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). 

- Excellent understanding of warehouse management procedures. 

- Proficient knowledge of inventory and inventory controls. 

- Forklift experience & certification.

- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. 

- Excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage staff. 

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
