THE ROLE

The Facility Lead will organize and execute projects by managing, reviewing, and participating in the work required to maintain, repair, and improve the daily conditions of the Grandstand facility. This includes plumbing, carpentry, electrical, remodeling, painting, janitorial, HVAC, lawn & landscaping, lighting, utilities, snow removal, and a variety of other craft work. 

  • Manage the daily responsibilities of custodial staff.  Participate in the selection and training of custodial staff. 
  • Monitor the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, outdoor areas, and parking lots.
  • Prepare facility for changing weather conditions. Maintain sidewalks and general landscape.
  • Manage facility supplies inventory, make purchases for approved expenses, and communicate in a timely manner when new expenses are required.
  • Oversee and participate in troubleshooting various electrical problems using a variety of materials, tools, supplies, and equipment. 
  • Oversee and participate in maintaining or repairing plumbing systems, internal and external lighting, and other general maintenance duties inside and outside of the facility; perform necessary preparation and clean-up work 
  • Oversee and participate in performing a variety of carpentry duties. 
  • Prioritize and schedule routine inspections and required service to correct identified facility and equipment issues.

 THE ESSENTIALS

  • High school diploma or GED required; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Experience as a semi-skilled handyman preferred.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with ability to organize, multi-task, plan and set priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility in schedule to accommodate seasonal conditions.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance.

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Level 3.5: Heavy Work. Must score at least a 3.5 for this position.
  • Occasionally exerts 50-100 pounds of force; frequently exerts 25-50 pounds of force; constantly exerts 10-20 pounds of force.
  • Must be able to safely complete 50-pound PILE test or greater.
  • Ability to occasionally lift/lower 15-52 pounds, carry 20-48 pounds, push/pull (force exerted) 28-52 pounds.
  • Ability to perform physical activities that require frequent standing, walking, sitting, change of position, reaching (extended hands/arms), reach across mid-line, handling (hold, grasp, seize, turn), fingering (pinch/pick), feeling (perceive attributes of objects), crouching/squatting (bend legs/spine), crawling, balancing, stooping (bend at waist), kneeling, stairs, ramp, ladder, arm/hand, leg/foot, simple grasp (grasp lightly), firm grasp (use pressure/force), fine manipulation. 
  • Ability to wear respiratory protection.
