The primary function of this position is assigning codes to surgical procedures and diagnoses ensuring that codes are assigned correctly and sequenced appropriately as per government and insurance regulations and complying with medical coding guidelines and policies. Reviewing patients’ charts and documents for verification and accuracy. Additionally to facilitate the submission of claims to health insurance companies. Works with coding databases and confirms DRG assignments. High School diploma or equivalent. At least 1 year of experience in coding or medical records using ICD and CPT coding systems. Surgical coding preferred.
