What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infection Control Coord position at Grandview Medical Center?
Assumes responsibility for prevention and control of nosocomial and community acquired infections within the hospital environment. Monitors and investigates known or suspected sources of infections in order to determine the source and ensure control. Reviews sterilization and disinfection techniques and recommends changes as needed. Provides related education to staff. Prepares simple cultures as needed for environmental and individual studies.
Education: Associates degree in nursing or Bachelor's degree in a healthcare related field required.
Experience: At least 2 years of experience in infection control required.
License/Certification: Currently certified by CBIC (CIC certification).
