- Teach the College and Career Readiness Standards for English Language Arts and Literacy and for Mathematics as outlined by the USBE.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of the individual
- Utilize effective teaching techniques in translating lesson plans into productive student learning experiences which best utilize the time available for instruction
- Utilize computers and other technological classroom support equipment in student instruction.
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom through organization and appropriate discipline strategies.
- Evaluate students’ academic and social growth, maintain appropriate records, prepare progress reports.
- Be familiar with and willing to implement the Granite Way.
- Communicate and cooperate with other professional staff regarding the student’s academic and personal growth areas.
- Attendance, physical presence, and timeliness are essential functions of this position.
- Provide and maintain a safe and supportive environment in the classroom/
- Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the school district and self-selected professional growth activities.
- Participate in faculty meetings as required.
- Administer appropriate student attendance policies and procedures.

Granite Peaks - Hourly ELA Teacher
Granite Peaks Adult Education is looking for two English Language hourly teachers to work evenings Monday through Thursday from 5:45 pm to 8:45 pm. Classes the teacher will cover will begin January 8th 2024 and continue until May 16th , 2024. One instructor is needed at Granger High School (3600 W 3580 S) and the other at the Granite Peaks Learning Center (501 E 3900 S).
