Camp Foss is seeking a Registered Nurse or EMT who wishes to impact the lives of over 600 youth per summer. Camp Foss is located on the serene Willey Pond in Strafford, NH. The Camp Nurse/EMT will live onsite at camp and work with children at an all girls' YMCA overnight camp.Dates Needed: Session 3: 7/20/24- 8/3/24Session 4: 8/3/24- 8/17/24
The Camp RN/EMT is responsible for the following:
Routine nursing care to campers, counselors, and staff according to physicians’ orders and instructions.
Emergency care to camper, counselors and staff involved in accident or injury.
Administration of prescribed medication.
Set up, maintenance and break down of Infirmary including supplies.
Processing all forms pertaining to insurance coverage, accident reports and documentation of nursing care.
Communication of nursing care and medical attention to parents as well as information regarding campers to nursing and medical team.
Promote the YMCA’s Character Development program
Check and monitor Camp Doc for all current or incoming camper files.
Work with Camp Foss/Mi-Te-Na management staff to promote positive inter-camp relations
Minimum Qualifications:
Certified Register Nurse in the State of New Hampshire OR
Certified EMT
Documented experience working as a nurse or EMT
This responsibility requires enthusiasm, humor, patience, energy, maturity, focus and creativity on a continual basis in order to be an effective leader.
This position is at an all girls’ overnight camp. The Camp RN/EMT is expected to live onsite while working.
Pay range $1,200-$1,500 per week depending on experience. Room and board are included. Additionally, staff children/grandchildren/youth dependents are eligible to receive free camp.
