Grant Thornton is seeking an Associate to join its Finance Transformation practice and take an active role in engagement execution, project management and key business development activities.

Responsibilities:
Provide evidence of source document to crucial data elements as guided by Senior Auditors
Review source data and determine source reliability
Review electronic data and validate to paper (scanned) records
Enter data from paper (scanned) record into database
Secure sensitive data in accordance with contract requirements
Develop workpapers and client deliverables
Communicate to Senior Associates and Grant Thornton management, any potential issues or risks.
Support Federal staff with financial reporting and analysis, internal controls, financial statement analysis, and financial statement audits.
Assist staff with assessments, documentation, and reporting technical advice.
Analyze and interpret accounting data and reports and perform forecasting and evaluations.
Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization).
Assist with business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership materials.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting or related field.
1 years of experience in Accounting related role.
Knowledge and understanding of Federal Accounting Operations.
Experience in Federal Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Lease Accounting standard experience preferred, but not required.
Ability to obtain and maintain certain job-related certifications if no job-related advanced degrees.
U.S. citizenship may be required. Ability to work in the United States indefinitely required.
Travel may be required.
Ability to work overtime required on occasion.
Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
Ability to obtain and maintain firm independence and abide by firm ethics requirements.
Meet or exceed continuing professional education (CPE) requirements.
