Summary Under the direction of the Public Relations and Marketing Manager, the Graphic Designer will perform a range of functions in support of visual communications such as graphic design, 3D illustration, digital graphics, ad concept and creation, website maintenance, graphics, and layout. |

Minimum Qualifications · Qualified candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in graphic design, marketing or related field and at least 5 years of graphic design experience as well as a solid understanding of digital technologies. |
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities · Must be self-directed and demonstrate the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneously. · Must be a team player and be able to interact with staff at all levels of the company and its various departments. · Strong organization skills along with excellent oral and written communication ability. · High energy level and sense of humor essential. · Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, or related major. · Excellent proficiency of Microsoft Office Products. · Working with a Mac computer is a requirement. · Proficiency in Adobe Suite of Products, InDesign, & Blender or equivalent is essential. · Copy writing a plus. |

Essential Functions Graphic Design · Stays abreast of any industry-wide changes in design philosophy and any new tools and resources being used for graphic design and the Internet. · Makes changes to product based on feedback from management and users. · Assists with daily operation of the marketing group, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow. · Prioritizes, tracks, handles, and maintains records of the elements, costs, and time schedules of multiple projects. · Consults with supervisor to evaluate individual project needs. · Prepares illustrations or rough sketches of material according to instructions of corporate design, sales & customer request. · Able to translate engineering drawings and technical information into illustrations, photographs, and other visual representations. · Determines size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, selects style and size of type, and creates sample layouts. · Selects, supervises, and obtains cost estimates from outside vendors such as photographers, illustrators, paper suppliers, or printers. · Works with outside vendors to coordinate production of banners, catalogs, and other printed materials, including creating print-ready files. · Prepares cost estimate for project within quality specifications, financial constraints, and time schedule for project. · Prepares layout prints for department for approval. · Presents samples to department for selection and approval. · Creates finished layout. · Reviews final layout and suggests improvements as needed, and presents final layout to supervisor for approval. · Prepares final layout in electronic form for production. · Reviews quality of final product before release. · Maintains and organizes source files. · Creates, positions and/or reviews specifications, including fonts, page layout grid for text and artwork, paper, and printing processes. · Involved with the creation and production of sales, marketing, and packaging materials. |
2D & 3D Illustration · Sketch, plan, and create 2D illustrations using templates or other sources. · Use software for line drawings or photographs as conversions. · Determine best method of illustrating products and/or people for demonstration, instructions or presentations. · Preparation of illustrations for printing offset, posters, banners or signage. · Combine different media sources to create originals. |
Photography & Videography · Determines best method of producing product, PR and editorial photographs. · Maintains photography equipment and lighting for use in product photography for catalog, ads, or illustrative purposes. · Stays abreast of any new equipment and or software associated with photography and lighting. · Retouch, alter and prepare photographs for print, web or other purpose. · Using Digital camera or cameras for product, model and group photography as well as factory processes, events and special guests coverage for catalogs, ads, and newsletters. Studio photography using lights, LED or flash with soft boxes. · Setup and production of video with additional audio recording device, lighting and scheduling. Assisting with storyboarding and script writing is a plus. Setup teleprompter and manage files. · Video editing in one, two, or three of the following Adobe Premiere Pro, Blender 3D, Hitfilm Pro combining audio clips with video clips and graphics for final video output formatted for social media and websites. |
Web Development · Provide design maintenance of all website and other electronic publications and applications. · Basic knowledge of html, stylesheets and WordPress. Google analytics and SEO knowledge is a plus. · Knowledge of industry web browsers and troubleshooting. · Stays abreast of any industry-wide changes in design philosophy and any new tools and technologies.
