Position Description:
This is a System Engineer position supporting the IFMC AMD Mission Command Product Office, a government program office addressing Army Air and Missile Defense systems, with a focus on Mission Command systems. The individual in this role will work with contractors, government civilians, and system operators.
What You'll Be Doing:
Developing system level concepts that provide solutions to problems that often involve multiple systems from multiple product offices. These concepts define external interfaces, outline system behavior, performance, and acceptance criteria necessary to support HW and SW engineering teams. Leading reviews and adjudicating comments made against the concepts. An MBSE approach is used to document the concepts using an Agile workflow.
Must Haves:
- Applicants must be a resident of, or willing to relocate to, the Huntsville, AL area.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related field is required.
- 7 years of system engineering experience is required.
- Experience is required in one or more of the following areas: tactical command and control systems, tactical weapons systems, tactical sensor systems, software, hardware, requirement decomposition, or MBSE tools and languages.
- Possess a strong record of taking initiative and being a team player in a small team environment.
- Comfortable working as a team member in an Agile environment and be willing to engage various levels of stakeholders to ensure proposed solutions can meet the needs of the intended users.
- Organizational skills with a strong technical background in system engineering principles.
Nice To Haves:
- System engineering experience in support of DoD programs is preferred, especially in an Army Air and Missile Defense program.
- Hands on experience creating models in Cameo or MagicDraw using SysML and UAF are desired.
- Experience using Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence are a plus.
- Experience with systems engineering in an Agile methodology highly desired. SAFe© Agile experience a plus.
