Job Summary/Description:
WAVE in Louisville, Kentucky is looking for a reporter/anchor who thrives on urgency, to prepare and present breaking news and traffic information to our morning news audience via our WAVE News Alert Desk.
We are looking for a reporter/anchor hungry for urgent news. This person must be resourceful and able to scope out new information and breaking stories. The position requires someone to find and prepare urgent news stories for WAVE's morning newscasts. He or she will also be responsible for learning the station's traffic mapping and camera system, anchoring when needed, and field reporting.
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate excellent news judgment. Ideal candidate must be a self-starter, excellent and clear communicator, and a team player.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- BA degree in broadcasting or equivalent work experience
- At least 2 years of experience in a live media setting, in a newsroom.
- Expert-level ad-libbing skills
- Excellent shooting, writing, and editing skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Strong broadcast and AP-style writing skills
- Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
