Job Summary/Description:
WBRC FOX6 News in Birmingham, Alabama has an immediate opening for a Creative Services – Brand Manager. If you are one of the best creating Image campaigns, Targeted Special Reports, Proof of Performance, and Community driven initiatives then we want you! Working in tandem with the Creative Services Director - the Brand Manager is responsible for developing, creating, and supervising News, Sales, and Community Affairs content for WBRC’s premiere FOX affiliate. In addition, this position will also assist in placing outside media, wide orbit scheduling, commercial production, and any other content-based projects.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to:
*Supervise, lead, and oversee Creative Services producers – helping with content creation, copywriting, graphic design, and advanced production.
* Create and develop advertising campaigns for News, Sales and Community-based programs.
* Create, review, approve, and revise copy as assigned.
* Work with producers and Creative Services Director to create branded marketing campaigns.
* Develop and produce unique and creative/branded station content for our digital platforms.
* Work with News managers and EPs to obtain best content/moments of our news products that demonstrate our brand to viewers/users.
* Serve as a liaison between News, Sales, and Creative Services.
* Present fully realized campaigns during pitches
* Help to grow our news audience and engagement on all digital platforms
* Create contests and giveaways to drive tune in assigned programs.
Essential duties/responsibilities - As promotions manager you will also be responsible for exceptional video production, including writing, directing, cinematography, editing and a working knowledge of motion graphic design.
* Work with the unit’s writer/producers to create innovative and branded news, marketing materials for station on-air, station website; station social sites, and all other mobile platforms.
* Works with design director, graphics hub and Creative Services Director to create necessary news branding graphic elements for all station platforms.
* Works with Creative Services writer/producers to create innovative marketing messages for sweeps pieces and news events.
* Create news marketing social posts targeted to align with all on-air news promotional efforts.
* Works with CSD to manage news promotional ad avails on all digital - web/mobile and social media advertising – including YouTube and Google Ads.
* Work with Creative Services Director to organize branded social efforts by tracking goals, evaluating posts, and developing best practices.
* Work with Creative Services Director to educate producers in developing successful news promotion writing styles and innovative editing techniques.
* Track metrics and determine the success of content/coverage marketing programs.
* Work with Creative Services Director to organize/plan strategic community outreach for station.
* Perform all other marketing duties as assigned by station management.
Qualifications/Requirements:
* Experience in innovative writing, editing, and producing branded content
* Experience producing digital content
* Familiarity with Graphic design and project execution.
* Strong understanding of web/social trends and technology
* Non-linear editing skills
* Advanced video production skills
* Ability to work under daily deadline pressure
* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
* Proficiency in English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
* Outstanding organizational and critical thinking skills
