WVLT is located in beautiful Knoxville, Tennessee. We produce 64.5 hours of local news per week on our CBS and CW stations. Job Summary/Description:  

WVLT has a rare opening for a Sports Reporter/Anchor. This person will shoot, edit, report and anchor coverage of East Tennessee sports. This is SEC sports heaven, and WVLT is the "Official Station of the Tennessee Volunteers". We go big covering Vols football, basketball, baseball, softball and everything in between. You'll feel the roar of Neyland Stadium on Saturdays, and see Knoxville come alive like no other college environment on game days.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Shoot, edit, report and anchor sports stories and segments
- Write stories for website and social media
- Operate camera and TVU live shot equipment
- Maintain sources and contacts to generate story ideas and exclusive content
- Is a team player and realizes sports is part of the overall news department. You will often be a-block material here.
- Perform any other actions as asked by the Sports Director and News management staff

Qualifications/Requirements:

- At LEAST 3 years experience working in television newsroom
- This IS NOT an entry level position
- A degree in journalism or a related communication field is mandatory
- Must be available to work all shifts
- Capable of working under pressure and meeting daily deadlines in a high energy working environment
- Good communications skills, and the ability to multi-task efficiently
- Bi-lingual ability in Spanish is a plus. Please, no phone calls
