Reporting to the GrayMatter Controller, the position will supervise, track and evaluate day-to-day accounting activities of the company. The Accounting Supervisor will coordinate general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, financial performance analysis, cash flow management, bank and credit card reconciliations, and the assessment and improvement of accounting functions and expense management.

We’re looking for an Accounting Supervisor to join our team in Warrendale, PA! Reporting to the GrayMatter Controller, the position will supervise, track and evaluate day-to-day accounting activities of the company. The Accounting Supervisor will coordinate general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, financial performance analysis, cash flow management, bank and credit card reconciliations, and the assessment and improvement of accounting functions and expense management.
- This position has the option of being an office-based position or a primarily remote position.
- Supervising and overseeing daily operations of the accounting department
- Supervising the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes including the consolidation of multiple entities and intercompany transactions
- Monitoring and analyzing all accounting transactions and producing financial statements, reports, analyses, reconciliations and recommendations
- Following compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements and transactions
- Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles including internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions
- Interacting with clients, vendors, and internal teams daily regarding accounting transactions and to ensure accurate and on-time orders, billings, payments, receipts
- Utilizing Salesforce and Financial Force general ledger modules, tools and reporting
- Monitoring cash management, bank reconciliations, and cash forecasting
- Assisting with monthly financial forecasting and annual budgeting processes
- Managing sales and use tax return preparation and filings
- Coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors to provide information required for the annual audit and tax returns
- Contributing to the accounting for purchase combinations and debt refinancings associated with the company’s acquisition activity
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with six to nine years of accounting experience; previous experience as a senior accountant and an accounting supervisor is a plus
- Certified Public Accountant designation is preferred
- Professional Services industry and project/contract accounting experience is preferred
- Proficiency with accounting software, ERP systems and Excel; Salesforce/Financial Force (Certinia) is a plus
- Excellent computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Suite is a plus
- Proven knowledge of GAAP standards and practices
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multi-task across different accounting-related projects and activities
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across the organization
- Ability to direct and supervise with an ability to motivate and manage to achieve desired results
