Position Purpose
Responsible for the cleaning and sanitizing of production equipment according to the Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures outlined by the Company.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensures that our products meet the company’s standards and specifications
- Complete, legible and accurate documentation
- Must understand and follow all company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
- Food Safety and Quality Standard Requirements are being maintained daily
- Must understand and comply with the company Allergen, Food Defence and HACCP policies
- Must communicate with Supervision of any Food Safety and Equipment concerns
- Follows all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for the area worked
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships
- Never abuse equipment
- Work with Supervision and maintenance to maintain equipment in good working condition
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Correct weighing and recording of any waste to be disposed of
- Follows all work instructions
- Perform all other work assigned duties as required by Supervision
- Keep work area and machinery clean
- Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary for task at hand
- Never use damaged pallets
- Must comply with all safety policies and procedures at all times
- Utilize all safety devices
- Report any unsafe work practices or injuries to your supervisor
- Required to maintain a safe and clean work environment
Responsibilities
- Maintains cleanliness, sanitation and upkeep of production equipment and production areas in accordance with Company and regulatory agency quality and food safety standards.
- Efficiently disassembles and assembles production equipment for proper cleaning.
- Adheres to all GMP guidelines in the performance of job.
- Is aware of the chemical properties and proper use of cleaning solutions and applies knowledge in their proper use.
- Keeps accurate cleaning records of equipment, areas in accordance with SSOP’s.
- Keeps chemical room orderly and clean at all times.
- Ensures that chemicals are properly labeled and stored.
- Follows rules and regulations to ensure food safety, quality, and legality.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships.
- Other duties assigned by managers/supervisors
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Able to work various shifts and weekends, as required
- Related experience and/or training
- Must be able to perform janitorial duties
- Must be able to perform manual cleaning technique on processing equipment, walls and ceilings
- Must be able to perform tasks using portable chemical applicator(Foamer)
- Must be able to perform a detailing cleaning technique on processing equipment at ground
- Level
- Must be able to operate a scissors and boom lifts
Preferred
- Experience in the food industry
- High School Diploma or GED

- Ability to work in the frozen, refrigerated and hot bakery environment
- Ability to work in an environment with chemicals and cleaning agents along with large amounts of water and dust
- The noise level in the work environment is often moderate to loud
Food Safety / Quality
- Report any issues regarding food safety or quality to supervision and / or quality assurance.
- Report any risks or any evidence of unsafe or out-of-specification product, equipment, packaging or raw materials to a designated manager to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate attention.
