Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc., producer of YellaWood brand Pressure-Treated Pine is seeking a 2nd Shift Lumber Treating Operator for the location in Fombell, PA. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay and full benefits package.
Summary: Responsible for efficiently pressure treating wood products while maintaining quality standards by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Processes material through treatment by counting material to be treated into charges, enters information into the computer system, selects treating cycle, and begins treatment.
Drills each charge to check for penetration of preservative, retention of preservative, and judges samples against set standards.
Records test results and maintains ledger with sample/test information.
Posts each charge into the computer inventory database system.
Monitors efficiency of treating schedules.
Checks solution in work tanks once per shift, collects samples, and runs tests.
Logs solution test results into the ledger and makes necessary adjustments.
Works in coordination with the plant manager to track treating recipes, expenses, and any adjustments needed in the treating process.
Maintains housekeeping in the work area.
Troubleshoots equipment problems and/or breakdowns.
Assists in picking up and stacking lumber and other materials as needed.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED preferred
Three to six months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Lumber experience is a plus!
