POSITION SUMMARY:
This role actively supports the mission of the Y, a leading non-profit dedicated to community enrichment through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. As a Finance Clerk, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and providing vital administrative assistance to the finance department. Your meticulous attention to detail and proficiency in financial procedures will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless operation of financial activities within the organization.
The anticipated start date for this position will be January 2024.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Process invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial transactions promptly and accurately.
Enter and manage financial data into accounting software or databases, ensuring records are up-to-date and precise.
Prepare necessary documentation and information for internal and external audits, actively contributing to audit processes.
Enter and manage financial data into databases and spreadsheets with a high level of accuracy. Assist in generating financial reports and conducting basic data analysis.
Undertake general administrative tasks within the finance department, including filing, responding to queries, and providing support to team members.
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies.
Maintain organized and secure financial documentation for audits and reference.
Demonstrate proficiency in data entry with a keen eye for accuracy and attention to detail.
Identify discrepancies and proactively resolve issues in financial records or administrative workflows.
Participate in internal Y committees and meetings as needed, fostering collaboration and communication within the organization.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
At minimum, an associate degree in the field of accounting. A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting, preferred.
Familiarity with the maintenance of organized financial records, emphasizing competency in creating and comprehending journal entries.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
