Job Summary:
The Data Entry Specialist prepares documents for upload to a public facing database ensuring accuracy, completeness and confidentiality.
Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities:
- Enter data accurately and efficiently into the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention database.
- Verify data accuracy and completeness.
- Redacting protected information, reconciling and keeping protected information confidential.
- Separating files into multiple documents and deleting unnecessary pages from documents.
- Renaming, scanning, and printing documents as needed.
- Cross-referencing the Virtual Gateway for inspectional history.
- Collaborating with MDPH staff/team members to ensure optimal data entry.
- Attends meetings and trainings as needed.
- Performs other related duties as requested by the Program Director and MDPH.
Skills & Qualifications:
- High school degree or equivalent is preferred.
- Prior data entry experience is preferred.
- Must have basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Administrative experience, including use of office equipment (e.g., scanner) is preferred.
- Experience in Adobe Pro software is preferred.
- Organization skills, attention-to-detail, and accuracy required
- Must have a suitable CORI and SORI completed within the first thirty (30) days of employment.

Physical Demands: This job regularly requires the employee to sit, walk and stand as well as use hands repetitively to handle or operate standard equipment. This employee is occasionally required to kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
