Greater Oregon Behavioral Health, Inc. (GOBHI) has an immediate opening for a part-time 25 hours per week Children’s System Youth Specialist. This position will be based out of the employee’s home office, which needs to be located with the Eastern Oregon region.
This position will empower, motivate, and engage with youth and young adults with lived experience in systems. Serves to build sustainability of Systems of Care (SOC) with youth voice at local, regional and state level committees. This position will help gather, track, create, and eliminate barriers for Eastern Oregon Coordinated Care Organization’s SOC.
Essential duties include:
- Coordinate, develop, and sustain the functions of youth within local multi-level collaborative governance structures across each county.
- Gather, track, create, and eliminate barriers through all levels of SOC governance structures across each county.
- Participate with the State System of Care Governance Committee in training, strategic planning, and implementation of System of Care with youth voice.
- Provide a variety of remote and in- person meetings to orient, engage and connect with youth and youth adults with lived experience.
- Connect youth and young adults with lived experiences to the EOCCO System of Care Youth and Family Leadership Committee, Local System of Care governance structures and meetings at the state that are looking for youth voices.
- Facilitate access to resources and connection to state entities that may benefit youth.
- Provide backup facilitation to the Practice Level Workgroups and Youth and Family Leadership Committee.
- Help conduct System of Care Grants in all phases and activities as written out in Grants.
- Support the development and connection of young people to natural supports within their community Attend staff meetings and scheduled supplementary trainings.
- Complete and submit scheduled reports, timesheets and other paperwork as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
What is needed to succeed in this role:
- One year of lived experience and show knowledge of the system and how to navigate it.
- Youth Peer experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Flexible able to multitask in response to time sensitive and changing situations.
- Effective listening skills.
- Technology Savvy – comfortable using Microsoft Office software and/or Google Suites software.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Effective presentation skills – including public speaking and meeting facilitation.
- Maintains good driving record and required vehicle insurance.
- Education – High School diploma or equivalent.
- Bilingual Spanish skills preferred.
