Responsibilities:
- Manage the metallurgical test function for the operation by planning testing, evaluation of test results and investigation of test failures.
- Training, evaluation and qualification of test lab personnel to run equipment, preparation of necessary work instructions related to the test lab operation.
- Conduct testing to investigate the cause of the problem, determine alternatives to improve existing casting processes
- Support defect evaluations.
- Assist with research on scrap and cost reduction; assist in launching new jobs.
- Develop melting and heat treating processes to obtain desired characteristics such as strength, ductility and hardness.
- Coordinate and conduct specialized training in metallurgical related subjects.
- Establish and refine the melt practices for the operation.
- Perform any and all other job related tasks as assigned.
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university or college.
- Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week.
- Must know and readily understand cast alloys and understand microstructure of castings..
- Must have the ability to analyze data, communicate both verbally and in written formats and manage a variety of tasks at one time.
- Must keep up to date with field and improving technology..
Salary : $41,600 - $52,700
