Plant Engineering Intern, Industrial

Grede is seeking highly motivated, innovative, and inspired individuals. Grede’s internship program allows students to gain on-the-job experience in an environment outside of the classroom. This is an opportunity for students to apply their knowledge, enhance their critical thinking, and test drive their careers. The assignments are project oriented, meaningful to the department and company, allowing interns to take responsibility for a major task, and gain experience. Responsibilities: Work with production control and other departments to ensure trouble-free and timely start-up of new jobs and engineering changes. Prepare documentation of new work and set dates for completion of tooling, sampling, pilot runs, layouts, etc. Track, record and report progress. Suggest design or process changes to enhance value on existing and new designs and procedures. Communicate required changes to appropriate plant personnel. Participate in the Cost Estimate Requisitions (CER's) process by developing estimates of tooling design, yield, and cost. Conduct time studies for process and procedure efficiencies. Participate in audit preparation procedures, processes and documentation. Any other duties, as assigned. Experience and Educational Requirements: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university or college.
