The Green & Healthy Homes Initiative (GHHI) is a 501(c)(3) entity with the vision of advancing racial and health equity through healthy housing. With an emphasis on Black and Brown communities, GHHI delivers improved health, economic and social outcomes. GHHI supports housing, environmental health, and energy efficiency services for families in communities around the country, as well as conducting direct services in Maryland. GHHI’s delivery model is based on its data-driven philosophy that public and private social investments are optimized and social program outcomes are maximized when the energy, health and safety needs of an occupied home are addressed comprehensively, efficiently, and simultaneously. The Green & Healthy Homes Initiative is dedicated to addressing the social determinants of health and the advancement of racial and health equity through the creation of healthy, safe and energy efficient homes. By delivering a standard of excellence in its work, GHHI aims to eradicate the negative health impacts of unhealthy housing and unjust policies for children, seniors, and families to ensure better health, economic and social outcomes with an emphasis on black and brown low-income communities.

VP of Maryland Programs Overview:

The organization is looking for an impactful leader and experienced professional who can implement and oversee various direct service program operations in Maryland. The program mission of the organization is to create and advance access to healthy, lead safe and energy efficient homes for children and aging adults in Maryland. The Vice President of Maryland Program Services will be responsible for the effective and efficient functioning of a comprehensive set of services including: Case Management, Family Advocacy, Education, Legal Services, Environmental Assessment and Housing Interventions. The Vice President of Maryland Program Services accomplishes this through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by the vision, values and objectives of the organization. Through this work, the organization aims to reduce home-based environmental health hazards and triggers in low income homes and to improve health, economic and social outcomes. The Vice President of Maryland Program Services duties include among others:

Management

• Manage federal, state, local and foundation supported direct services program staff and assure adherence to grant guidelines and reporting;
• Supervise and develop direct program services team and managers in Maryland of approximately 18 team members to produce outcome oriented direct services that achieve program deliverables;
• Assure quality housing interventions, environmental assessments, energy audits, resident and rental property owner education sessions, and direct service delivery in targeted communities;
• Coordinate lead hazard reduction, energy efficiency, and weatherization contracts and interventions performed by the Green & Healthy Homes Initiative’s (GHHI) intake, assessment and intervention professionals as part of the comprehensive GHHI approach; 
• Ensure proper program coordination and referrals with partners from government, the health care sector and nonprofit organizations; 
• Monitor the program’s achievement toward meeting program benchmarks;
• Identify program barriers and make recommendations towards overcoming them;
• Conduct weekly and other team meetings as appropriate.

Reporting

• Assure proper data collection and adherence to program guidelines for evaluation and auditing;
• Report data in compliance with standards and regulations;
• Maintain responsibility for internal weekly project reporting; 
• Prepare timely external grant and program reports;
• Document project results and provide information and case studies for agency reporting, news articles, website, and other program development.

Training

• Ensure staff training and strict adherence by program staff to safe work practices and worker safety rules in accordance with all HUD, EPA, OSHA, MDE, MOSH, and Baltimore City laws, regulations, and guidelines as well as organizational Policies;
• Provide training and ensure consistent implementation of Program protocols;
• Present Green & Healthy Homes trainings to program partners, health and housing professionals, property owners, parents, and community residents; 
• Provide oversight of direct service sub-grantees and contractors.

Program Development

• Assist senior management in the development and implementation of broad Green & Healthy Homes policy initiatives and strategic planning;
• Update program intervention protocols and training modules on lead, asthma, and other home-based environmental health issues through regular review of current best practices;
• Design program marketing and build community and stakeholder partnerships to increase client referrals, promote prevention education, and link services to target audiences, providers and stakeholders;
• Support and implement the development of effective Program Evaluation;
• Assist in modification or creation of new program materials where applicable;
• Assist with grant writing for Program initiatives;
• Other duties as assigned related to organizational mission and programs.

Minimum Requirements of Education/Experience:

• Master’s Degree or advanced degree in public health, environmental science, nursing, law, communications or relevant field;
• A minimum of five years of experience in program management and direct supervision of program staff; 
• Strong project management, budgeting, communication, interpersonal, and team leadership skills;
• Excellent written and oral presentation skills;
• A self-starter with excellent organizational and time management skills;
• Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment, prioritize tasks, and follow projects to completion on schedule and within budget;
• Strong attention to detail;
• Strategic planning and program design/development experience;
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office;
• Flexibility, initiative, and a collaborative spirit;
• Passionate, mission-driven professional with strong work ethic 
• Impeccable character and integrity.
• Desire to work in a team environment;
• Must have a valid driver license and possess own vehicle for transportation;  

  Preferred skills:

• Spanish speaking skills beneficial;
• Experience working with HUD, HUD Office of Healthy Homes and Lead Hazard Control, DOE, Healthy Homes, lead hazard reduction, weatherization, energy efficiency, rehabilitation, or housing intervention related projects a plus.
