Our venue has mostly played host to weddings in its 15-year history, and we are excited about repositioning and up-branding it as a luxury full- service event venue with gourmet F&B options, overnight accommodations, and experiential packages uniquely hand-picked for each group that stays with us. The Wedding & Events
Manager will play a critical role in this evolution.

Granite Mountain Resort, another Green Door Hospitality operation, serves as the catering operations headquarters for The Lodge at Two Moons. It is located just 7 miles away and features a full commercial kitchen and workspaces where much of the preparation work takes place. Granite Mountain Resort also offers 30 limited-service RV overnight spaces for short & long-term stays, 7 Airbnb hotel-style guestrooms and a large event space for meetings, weddings, and social events.

The Wedding & Events Manager will also be part of a part of the Green Door Hospitality team, a growing company focused on providing exceptional guest experiences in purposely selected destinations that honor and celebrate their locality. Green Door Hospitality also owns the Sierra Sky Ranch Hotel, a 28-room historic hotel and Cowboy Tavern Restaurant & Bar within Sierra Sky Ranch Hotel.

Wedding & Events Manager Job Summary

The primary responsibilities include:

  • The successful execution of all catering events already on the books and new events, including client interface for their requirements, supervising catering staff, and coordinating the actual events in conjunction with the Food & Beverage Manager, Catering Chef, and the Operations Team.
  • Coordinate menus, staffing and implementation of all group events: preparation and distribution of specifications sheets (BEOs) for each function per the catering schedule.
  • Ensure that the Daily Event List, Banquet Event Order/Guarantee Sheet, and Ten-Day Event Schedule are generated and distributed on a timely basis and ensure accuracy.
  • Check set ups prior to guest arrival, ensuring all details are aligned with the client’s requirements and property’s standards.
  • Oversees preparation of the venue for the event, including setting up and arranging tables and chairs, serving stations, buffet lines, tableware, audio-visual, décor, etc.
  • Communicates with catering staff, gives direction, and ensures the team is efficient and successful.
  • Ensures the venue is clean and that food is handled in a sanitary manner.
  • Develop a full working knowledge of the operations and policies of the property and applicable departments.
  • Welcome the client upon arrival at function and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Attend daily/weekly/monthly meetings and any other functions required by management.
  • Help coordinate with housekeeping for guest needs, cabin turns and general upkeep needs.
  • Communicate maintenance & repair needs.
  • The Wedding & Events Manager adheres to all of Green Door Hospitality’s established regulations, company standards, catering/meeting standards, and all operational standards.
  • Offer personalized experiential solutions for clients and enhance our reputation and business by working with our Operations Team to ensure we exceed our clientele’s expectations.
  • Responsible for assembly and completion of assigned event’s file and organization of event details, and any other assignments related to the successful operation of the business.
  • This position reports to The Director of Sales and works directly with the General Manager when on-site.

Wedding & Events Manager Base Qualifications

  • Previous catering experience is required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Demonstrate creativity and knowledge of food and beverage service, wedding event planning and execution, and remote catering operations in unique environments.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license for the applicable state.
  • Must possess developed verbal and written communication skills to frequently negotiate and influence desired outcomes, interact with other managers, personnel, guest(s), and/or corporate clients.
  • Candidates must be proficient in general computer knowledge especially Microsoft Office products and Google Suite applications.
  • Must be able to work independently and simultaneously, manage multiple tasks, and possess strong organization, and presentation skills.
  • This position will work in multiple environments, including in-office, from home, on-site in multiple locations, in vehicle, and at other locations the company operates in the area.

The candidate should possess extraordinary networking and client relation skills, along with a detailed mindset about organization and execution of events. A passion for hospitality is a must! Work is performed in an office and venue environment that is very fast paced. Requires the ability to multitask and complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner without direct supervision.

The ideal candidate must be extremely organized, personable, and enthusiastic. This person will be the face of the company and the first point of customer interaction, and as such needs to maintain the highest level of professionalism, discretion, confidentiality and customer service.
