Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with the dentist and dental hygienist to provide quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with dental procedures, taking vital signs, maintaining patient records, and ensuring infection control protocols are followed.

Duties:

- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures

- Assist the dentist during dental procedures by handing them instruments and materials

- Take and record patients' vital signs, including blood pressure and pulse

- Take dental radiographs (x-rays) as directed by the dentist

- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring and trimming models, fabricating temporary crowns, and processing dental radiographs

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history and treatment plans

- Schedule patient appointments and handle dental receptionist duties as needed

- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions

- Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols, including sterilizing instruments and disinfecting treatment rooms

- Provide assistance to the dentist in managing pediatric patients

Skills:

- Proficiency in Open Dental

- Knowledge of taking vital signs and recording accurate measurements

- Experience with medical imaging techniques used in dentistry

- Understanding of aseptic technique for maintaining a sterile environment

- Ability to manage and maintain electronic medical records

- Previous experience as a dental receptionist is a plus

- Knowledge of infection control protocols in a dental setting

- Comfort working with pediatric patients
