What are the responsibilities and job description for the Merchandising Assistant position at Green Plains Inc.?
Summary
As the Merchandising Assistant, you will be responsible for working with the merchandiser(s) to ensure appropriate entry and execution of contracts, timely invoicing and payments of shipments, and coordination of carrier movements to counterparties.
Essential Functions include but are not limited to:
- Input contract and shipment details into CTRM system and maintain the accuracy of those contracts throughout execution
- Work with counterparties to ensure appropriate application and entry of shipments into system
- Identify and resolve problems and discrepancies with the counterparties
- Provide excellent customer service by fostering positive relationships and strong follow-up with customer issues, both internal and external
- Ensure appropriate set up of third-party charges including freight, brokerage, etc.
- Work with credit manager and customer to determine status of overdue accounts
- Assist in month-end inquiries, review closing of completed contracts, inventory reconciliations, position reconciliation, and other duties
- Work closely with Accounting to make sure shipments and fees are invoiced appropriately and timely
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Agribusiness or related field preferred
- Excellent customer service with internal and external customers
- Strong mathematical and computation skills
- Pay excellent attention to details
- Intermediate Excel skills and experience with other Microsoft Office products
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and be task driven
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, enjoys troubleshooting issues
- Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external customers
- Ability to work with urgency and deadlines, good time management skills
- Ability to multi-task and to prioritize different requests, good organization skills

- Ability to meet physical demands of the job includes but is not limited to: frequent sitting, standing, frequent computer use; frequent telephone use; some lifting or moving up to 10 lbs

Salary : $31,800 - $40,200
