Green River College's student body is made up of approximately 41% Academic Transfer students, 34% Professional-Technical, 15% Adult Basic Education, 3% Applied Bachelor degrees.  Green River College has four campuses, including the main campus in Auburn, with satellite campuses in Kent, downtown Auburn, and Enumclaw.  Green River programs serve high school graduates, Running Start students (dual enrollment in local high schools and the college), those seeking retraining for the workforce, international students, students learning English, and Continuing Education students. The Program Coordinator will support the Open Doors Program at Green River College. Open Doors is part of the College and Career Pathways Department (CCP). The program is a collaborative partnership with three local school districts aimed at helping students who have or are at risk of disconnecting from high school get reengaged with education. Students can earn a high school credential by taking courses to prepare for the GED® exam and/or engage in high school credit or dual-credit college courses for diploma completion and/or degree or certificate attainment.
  • Assist new and current students, campus faculty/staff and community members in all modalities: in-person, via phone, email and virtually (Zoom and Teams).
  • Serve as contact for Open Doors students to provide important timelines and information about campus activities, other programs, and campus resources.
  • Provide inclusive, equitable and professional customer service to students, college employees, and community members.
  • Provide and help locate program information and resources to potential and current students.
  • Assist with application and registration process for Open Doors students.
  • Collect and process documents in a timely manner.
  • Create paperwork for program presentations, Information Sessions, New Student Orientations and Workshops.
  • Enter and maintain student data and records in Excel.
  • Plan, implement and maintain data for the program’s quarterly student book loan / supply program.
  • Manage Zoom lobby sessions for virtual student support.
  • Collect and track student’s required program forms.
  • Assist with outreach, via phone, text and/or email, to reconnect with previously enrolled students.
  • Create and maintain social media platforms providing updated information for current and potential students.
  • Perform complex word processing tasks such as integrating text with graphics, updating spreadsheets and database files, uploading and downloading documents and creating footnotes and outlines.
  • Coordinate and schedule program activities, schedule student appointments, copy and file.
  • Create student groups and assign advisors in the state-wide college database ctcLink.
  • Be knowledge of college website, Navigate and Canvas to assist students.
  • Distribute information in compliance with FERPA, SBCTC and GRC policies, procedures, and guidelines in a friendly, caring and informative manner.
  • Projects and other related duties as assigned.

 Minimum Qualifications: 
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Two (2) years clerical experience or equivalent education/experience
  • Two (2) years customer service experience
  • Attention to detail required
  • Demonstrated competency in verbal and written communication
  • Ability to troubleshoot, research, resolve and recall information
  • Ability to multitask and remain customer-focused in a high-traffic environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Experience with virtual conference programs

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Must have the ability to sit for prolonged period at a desk/computer workstation.

  • Frequent repetitive arm, hand, and finger motions

  • Frequent use of computer, smart phone, and iPad and exposure to screen in performing work assignments

  • Work in an office setting with frequent interruptions

  • Must be able to maintain “regular and predictable attendance.”

  • May need to carry, lift, or move equipment/supplies up to 25 lbs.

  • Work schedule: Monday – Thursday 8:30 am - 5 pm Friday 7:30 am – 4:00 pm
