Green Tree School & Services in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a qualified Math Specialist to provide math intervention and support to special education students. As a Math Specialist you will provide consultation and coaching regarding effective math instruction and support, direct service delivery with students who require targeted or intensive math interventions, and participation in professional development.
Responsibilities
Major Function: Service Delivery
Provides continuum of services to students and staff within an approved private school setting
Uses screening and evaluation data to develop and implement math interventions
Collects progress monitoring data to monitor, adjust, and evaluate math interventions
Facilitates small group math intervention for students in classroom or as a pull-out service
Implements individualized math intervention for students with highest level of math need
Reviews multiple sources of math data to program for students, classrooms and programs
Documents student needs, services, and progress in an accurate and timely manner
Major Function: Consultation & Coaching
Consults with teachers and staff on instructional strategies to support math achievement
Provides modeling, coaching and feedback regarding effective math instruction and support
Assists teachers in understanding data and adjusting instruction to improve performance
Collaborates with leaders for development, implementation and evaluation of interventions
Participates in collaborative planning, intervention planning, IEP meetings and Teamings
Maintains an organized system for storing and sharing math materials
Major Function: Professional Development
Builds staff capacity by facilitating staff training on math instruction and support
Engages in ongoing professional development related to math instruction and intervention
Participates in local or national organizations to maintain knowledge of best practices in field
Prepares for and participates in ongoing supervision
Performs other duties as assigned
