Job Overview: The Inventory Control team member plays a crucial role in maintaining and reporting on inventory levels, balancing desk, and fieldwork. Inventory Control works closely with the team to implement and achieve goals, requiring strong time management skills to ensure schedules are met.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Receiving:
Enter purchase orders (POs) into the CP system based on order confirmations or pre-invoices.
Evaluate and address the need for tags or any missing SKUs.
Oversee and coordinate the evaluation of products upon arrival with the team, addressing discrepancies or damage.
Process product claims and submit them to the Purchasing Manager.
Receive product arrivals into the CP system within 24 hours of their arrival on site.
Allocate received materials for jobs into the Aspire system upon arrival.
Tagging:
Print and apply tags and labels for plants and products as required.
Assist garden center staff with proper tagging.
Conduct spot checks to identify and correct any missing or incorrect tagging.
Pricing:
Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager to set pricing for products not already priced.
Work with team to set up new SKUs for new items
Counting & Adjustments:
Generate and manage reports for inventory counts, coordinating with the team to perform spot checks and full inventory counts.
Review the inventory negatives report weekly or more frequently to correct inventory discrepancies and identify potential issues.
Enter all inventory adjustments into the CP system regularly, either daily or weekly as necessary.
Transfers:
Process branch-to-branch transfer paperwork prior to product movement.
Inspect and receive transferred materials upon arrival.
Landscape Company:
Manage project orders submitted via the Aspire system, evaluating them weekly against current stock and pulling materials as needed.
Communicate any outstanding product needs to the Purchasing Manager for ordering.
Allocate pulled materials into the Aspire system as purchase receipts and complete corresponding inventory releases.
Assist with any pop-up orders or changes beyond pre-pulled materials.
Respond to and resolve issues communicated via the Aspire Issues tool.
Other Responsibilities:
Familiarize yourself with all manuals and materials, including policy, safety, and training manuals.
Participate in weekly team meetings covering safety, customer service, in-store promotions, and sales goals.
Use the When I Work scheduling system to acknowledge all scheduled shifts and request time off through the Employee Self-Service portal.
Qualifications:
Positive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to assist.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Sufficient knowledge of plants and horticulture to perform the required duties.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to pass a work physical.
Details:
This is a full-time position with an average of 40 hours per week.
Overtime and weekend availability may be required during busy seasons.
