Job Description

Department: Construction Safety, Taylor Texas

Reports To: RegionalManager and Corporate Safety Manager

Job Summary

People person with positive attitudeevery day.We want you to develop trust and great relationships with our employees to promote and enhance Greenberry safety culture Responsible for site-wide safety program, and ensuring compliance with all client's safety policies and procedures and local, state, federal safety regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. You must have excellent communication and organizational skills. The following duties are representative of the job but are not all inclusive and other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Have working knowledge of company-wide safety program and maintain compliance with local, state and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration ( OSHA) rules and regulations; this includes:

- understanding of Greenberry safety manual

- company orientation training.

- zero tolerance substance abuse program

- safety rewards (Points) program

- safety committees organization skills and follow up reporting

- safety, R.A.D.A.R. and Dashboard meeting topics

- safety training program

  • Participates in pre-construction and hand off meetings; conducts comprehensive on-site safety assessments of projects and establish safe work practices.
  • Provides personal protective equipment, information, signs, barriers and other relative safety materials needed to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintains work area surveillance program including air sampling, and hearing conservation.
  • Assist on site safety team and site safety coordinators.
  • Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices.
  • Responsible for worker's compensation program, including:

- filing accident reports

- investigating accidents

- issuing corrective actions and ensuring they are followed

- return to work program

- managing EMR

- managing job sites safety and physically training employees safe ways to do the work.

- posting OSHA 300 report as required

Primary on all safety and health related audits and managing of any safety violations citations that may occur.

Qualifications

The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the job but are not all inclusive.

Preferred aDegree in Industrial and orCommercial Safety or equivalent experience in and or Commercial &Industrial Construction. Must have experience working in heavy industrial and commercial construction with at least 5 years experience. Overall general knowledge of accepted safety practices and OSHA laws. Computer literate with excellent Microsoft Experience. Excellent written and verbal communication, problem solving, and analytical skills. Must be able to read, write and understand English. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions. Employee must be able to work independently, be able to exercise independent judgment within defined parameters.

Must have excellent communication skills, develop trust easily with others, have strong organizational and follow through skills.

Physical Demands:

Employee must be in good physical condition: possess good manual dexterity; be able to sit, stand, kneel, and squat; be able to lift at least 50 lbs; and be able to hear, speak and see within normal ranges.

Working Conditions:

Normally works in a typical field environment where work is done outside or in a manufacturing environment. Will be exposed to weather, dirt/dust, loud noise, and will be required to wear personal protective equipment but will periodically be in an office setting.
