Position Open: 9th Grade English Teacher

AS A VIRTUAL TEACHER you will...
Lead students through successful course completion.
Foster a virtual environment conducive to learning.
Prioritize student needs so that each child may reach their fullest potential.
Partner with parents and colleagues to manage course goals, curriculum, and materials that best benefit the individual needs of each student.
Engage and nurture student learning and student relationships.
Teach innovative live lessons over a virtual platform.
Promote creativity and excitement in the virtual learning environment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree
Appropriate state certification
Meets state’s NCLB’s Highly Qualified Teacher requirements
Proficient in Microsoft and Google Docs
Strong written/verbal communication skills
Ability to periodically travel within and between assigned geographic areas to support students, attend regularly scheduled meetings, and participate in school activities, open houses and orientations.
An ability to learn new technology tools quickly (e.g. learning management systems, web-based instructional tools)
SEI endorsement
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Three (3) years teaching experience preferred.
Experience working with the proposed age group.
Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology.
Experience working in a virtual environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities.
Conduct personalized support/tutorial services for students.
Create a positive educational climate for students to learn in.
Personalize instruction based on student learning needs.
Participate in ongoing training sessions.
Create lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the year.
Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.
Develop incentives to engage participants in class.
Work with program coordinators to ensure initiatives are being met.
Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
Follow MA State Teacher Evaluation System.
