JOB PURPOSE:
The Transportation Analyst plays a crucial role in optimizing transportation logistics and warehouse operations within a manufacturing plant. This role ensures the efficient flow of materials and products to support production and delivery requirements while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Collect, analyze, and interpret transportation data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
• Evaluate transportation routes, modes, and carriers to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve delivery performance.
• Collaborate with carriers and logistics partners to coordinate shipments and ensure timely delivery of materials and finished products.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse layout, storage, and inventory management.
• Coordinate with production and inventory control teams to ensure accurate forecasting and planning of materials and finished goods.
• Monitor and analyze warehouse operations to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and perform cycle counts to reconcile physical inventory with system records.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement and production teams to replenish stock as needed.
• Identify and address inventory discrepancies, stockouts, and overages in a timely manner.
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all warehouse personnel.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including OSHA and DOT regulations, related to transportation and warehouse operations.
• Participate in safety training programs and promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE / EDUCATION
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience in transportation analysis, logistics, warehouse operations, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
• Ability to lift and move heavy boxes and operate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Communicate effectively at all levels within the organization.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Work independently and productively.
