Position Title: Commercial Lending Assistant
Location: Greenfield, MA (onsite)
Job Summary:
The incumbent will provide administrative support to the Commercial Loan Officers. This position requires an aptitude of developing a working knowledge of commercial lending and commercial loan documentation, departmental policies and procedures, rules and regulations, and technical computer skills. The prospective applicant must maintain a sound working knowledge of the software programs utilized by the Commercial Loan Department. This position reports to the Vice President & Commercial Loan Administration Manager.
Duties (Essential Functions):
- Responsible for providing loan activity information to Loan Operations in an accurate and timely manner.
- Gather various documents and other information necessary in the underwriting and approval of commercial loan transactions, including UCC searches, flood determination reports, and other related documents.
- Prepare commercial loan documents, commitment letters and adverse action notices.
- Arrange commercial loan closings, including maintenance of a closing calendar and forwarding any necessary documents to closing attorneys.
- Responsible for tracking and obtaining missing commercial documents after Loan Servicing performs post-closing audit.
- Review all loan documents pre- and post-closing, organize loan files and submit to Loan Operations in a timely manner.
- Prepare Loan Modification documents.
- Prepare CDA information and submit to Credit Department.
- Share in departmental telephone duties, including answering and directing incoming telephone calls.
- Assist with the design and update of forms and special reports used in the Commercial Loan Department.
- Perform other similar duties as required by responsibility or requested by supervisors.
- Accept, prepare and enter Wire Transfer requests.
Job Requirements:
- Degree (or pursuing a degree) in business, finance, or related field, or three years' experience in commercial loan documentation is desired but will train the right candidate.
- Aptitude to learn quickly or is familiar with loan documents such as notes, security agreements and guarantees
- High level communication and analytical skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
- Attention to detail
