POSITION PURPOSE
The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting sound financial management and reporting systems as well as financial management capacity across the organization enabling adequate financial planning and monitoring. This person independently performs complex budgeting; conducts financial, statistical, and analytical studies; prepares and assists in the preparation of financial reports, statements, and claims for reimbursement of grant accounting according to prescribed guidelines; and performs related duties as required.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Generate financial statements for GreenPath and all affiliate companies.
- Analyze variance between actual, budgeted, projected, and prior year results
- Develop, maintain, and update forecasting model for Debt Management Plan (DMP) volumes and revenues.
- Develop, maintain, and update forecasting model for Creditor Contributions volumes and revenues.
- Develop, maintain, and update costing models for individual business lines, departments, and overall business.
- Support the department with generating and analyzing management accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Strategic analysis of operational results.
- Develop, maintain, and update government costing models for government grants.
- Learn and stay current on government rules for nonprofits.
- Assist with Single Audit compliance and audit requirements.
- Assist with internal and external audits as needed in ensuring controls and procedures are adequate and functional.
- Independently design appropriate management reports to meet information requirements for management and support use of such tools and formats across the organization.
- Lead research and analysis for internal and external users; create, organize, and maintain files using database and spreadsheet programs; retrieve and organize data into required reporting formats; collect, retrieve and organize data to identify financial discrepancies and resolve inquiries; recommend solutions to staff and ensuring that corrections are implemented properly.
- Other ad hoc duties as requested by management.
PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration from an accredited college or university preferred.
- 2 years’ experience working within a corporate finance department preferred
- 2 years performing financial analysis preferred
- 3 years of call-center environment preferred
