We’re looking for a Data Engineer to join us on Greenphire’s Data Services team. The Data Services team is responsible for supporting application reporting, providing data-driven products, building a best-in-class self-service data and analytics platform, and enabling ML/AI use cases. This is a tremendous opportunity to work in a high growth company crossing fintech and life science where data is a key driver for the future.
In this role, you will be responsible for retrieving data from various data systems, processing and integrating that data, scrubbing data, formatting it for consumption and delivering it to consumers. You will be working with data stored in systems that include RDBMSs, streams, queues, file stores, and APIs. You will process data using Python and SQL using libraries and frameworks such as Pandas, Spark AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, etc. You will support existing data solutions and will be tasked both with extending existing and developing new solutions. Working with Business Analysts and Product Managers and other engineers you will analyze requirements and issues and develop solutions to them.
In order to be successful in this position you will need to be comfortable working collaboratively within a fast paced environment that presents a variety of technical and business challenges. We are an Agile organization that strives to adhere to DevOps principles, which means that team members are empowered to innovate while being accountable for the solutions they provide. This includes providing production support and, as needed, being on-call.
Responsibilities
Working with other members of the team, translate business requirements into data access plan
Analyze and organize raw data in various tabular and semi-structured formats
Design and build data processing pipelines to meet business requirements
Combine raw information from different sources
Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability
Assembling large, complex sets of data that meet non-functional and functional business requirements
Participate in the design and implementation of infrastructure that supports data system needs
Building required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data sources using AWS and SQL technologies
Building analytical tools to utilize the data pipeline, providing actionable insight into key business performance metrics including operational efficiency and customer acquisition
Working with stakeholders including data, design, product and executive teams and assisting them with data-related technical issues
Working with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to support their data infrastructure needs while assisting with data-related technical issues
Qualifications
BS/BA in technical field, Computer Science, Mathematics or relevant work experience and/or training
Strong SQL development skills
SQL query writing
Performance tuning
Understanding of data warehousing design concepts and data modeling
Experience applying OOP concepts to data applications
Experience programming in Python
Experience with distributed data processing tools such as Apache Spark
Experience in data analysis
Experience with visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Qlik, Tableau)
