GreenPoint Ag is hiring a Cost Accountant that is integral to the accurate and timely review, recording and analysis of transactions that record the financial results of the company. The incumbent has the educational background and experience to ensure that the books and records are free from material misstatement and present fairly the results of the Company’s operations.
Essential Functions

Administers accounting for an assigned financial area of the accounting department

Performs general ledger reconciliations and creates journal entries to ensure financial transactions are properly recorded

Creates reports for management using ERP system, Microsoft Excel, and business intelligence software to audit activity, analyzing financial data, identifying variances to budget and prior year

Supports locations providing accounting assistance to business managers and administrators, educating them on policy and procedures

Performs other job-specific duties as outlined below:
Cost Accountant

Performs daily reconciliation of inter-company purchase orders to invoices, reclassifying variances to ensure accurate gross margin detail

Serves as support to retail/wholesale divisions providing solutions and guidance on inventory and purchase order receipt reconciliation

Performs general ledger reconciliation for multiple locations to include Inventory and Inventory in Transit, Gross Margin Variance and Purchase Order Liability

Assists in identifying ERP issues related to inventory and offers suggestions to improve upon PO processes and efficiencies

May participate in field inventory observations
Required Qualifications
-
Skill Level I – Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field

Skill Level II – 5 years of accounting experience; may be offset by comparable experience

College degree with 2 years of experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Excellent proficiency in Excel

Detail oriented and well organized

Outstanding customer service with a commitment to teamwork and continuous learning; shows strong initiative and a dedication to excellence

Solid accounting experience with high attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) with advanced knowledge of Excel

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate to address concerns and questions of managers

Current driver’s license; must be able to meet a Motor Vehicle Review in accordance with Company policy
