Our Opportunity
The credit analyst position will provide aid and support to the Credit Department by gathering and analyzing financial data to assess a new or existing customer’s credit worthiness. The credit analyst determines the risk of credit requests and recommends credit actions. Actions can include approval or denial of credit requests, recommending more data be obtained, or transfer to higher management for their review and decision.
Essential Functions
- Encode financial data and customer detailed information into a Credit scoring software program then review and analyze results
- Perform cash flow analysis to determine risk involved in extending credit
- Review and analyze financial statements
- Review and analyze applicants or customers’ financial and other information, as well as payment practices
- Communicate with sales personnel and customers as necessary to obtain complete and accurate credit applications, credit reports, credit references, and financial information to perform complete credit analysis
- Determine appropriate credit limits and approval conditions within delegated authority
- Review and understand outside 3rd party financing options
- Understand, support, and follow GreenPoint Ag's Credit Policy and Procedures
- Pull various credit reports and request bank information when needed
- Scan documents into ERP system
- Assists credit managers and other credit management as needed
- Perform A/R Specialist job responsibilities when needed - some of those duties include applying payments to customer accounts, scanning in checks, bank deposits and reconciling accounts
Supervisor Responsibilities
- No supervisory responsibilities
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field. May consider work experience or CCE certification in lieu of degree
- Proven ability to analyze financial statements, ratios, and cash flows
- Experience in the accounting, finance/credit industry is preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Analytical skills to effectively analyze data, make appropriate conclusions, and provide useful and insightful recommendations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Proficient with MS Office tools, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work and communicate with employees at all levels in geographically dispersed business operations
- Must be able to dependably work assigned hours and follow company policies and procedures; regular and reliable attendance expected

Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods and the use of hands to finger is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.
No heavy lifting is expected. Exertion of up to 10 lbs. of force may occasionally be required. While performing the duties of this job, good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, and copiers is needed.
