What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Assistant Teacher position at Greenspring Montessori School?
Greenspring Montessori School is seeking a full-time Children’s House Classroom Assistant for the 2022-23 school year. The right candidate is loving, mature, and excited to support children ages 3-6 years in a Montessori environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Prepare the classroom environment
- Manage the “flow” of the classroom
- Support children in their own resolution of conflicts and concerns
- Be a role model for children in speech, tone, demeanor, and actions
- Serve as a record keeper of the work children are engaged in and children’s social interactions
- Help set up for nap and lunch
- Supervise recess
- Support dismissal
- Assist with cleaning
- Assist with toileting
- Serve the needs of the children and community

POSITION DETAILS
This is a 10-month, full-time position. The hours are Monday through Friday from 7:45am to 3:45pm. The pay rate is $16.50 per hour. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, paid time off, retirement, and partial tuition remission for staff children.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
- Pass a background check
- Have previous experience with preschoolers
Authorization to work in the United States is a pre-condition of employment at Greenspring Montessori School.
