General Information:
The Information Technology Tier I Support Specialist will be responsible for assisting the director in projects and daily tasks required to meet company goals. The Information Technology Tier I Support Specialist will be tasked with following IT policies and systems to support the users while minimizing down time and supporting growth initiatives. *Some travel will be required.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Assist with the planning, implementation, maintenance, and documentation of all facets of reliable, efficient, integrated computer information networks.
· Provide assistance and training to all members in the use of our computer network, workstations, and in-vehicle equipment.
· Assist with the management of the cooperative’s communications and information hardware and software, with primary responsibility for radio, telephone, and computer systems, and their efficient integration.
· Provide helpdesk support, via phone, computer, in person, and through our ticketing system, for most issues related to desktop software, hardware and peripherals.
· Provide 24-hour support for hardware and services critical to operations when on call.
· Travel as needed to facilities to assist in installations and troubleshooting.
· Use appropriate communication and documentation to inform the team of important issues and information which will help improve team performance. Inform and coordinate with Operations and other computer users of procedures that would interrupt, affect, or interfere with their work.
· Participate in the on-call rotation as agreed. When on call, be prepared to address technical issues.
· Maintain good working relationships with all cooperative workers.
Required Skills and abilities:
· Experience in installation and implementation of IT systems and hardware.
· Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.
· Outstanding communication abilities.
· Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
· Excellent attention to detail.
· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent is required.
· At least two years experience in an entry-level IT technician role is preferred.
