Cashier/Store Associate

This is a full-time 32 hour per week position with full benefits. Required to work every other Saturday.

Summary: The Store Associate is responsible for cash register operation, donation intake and sorting, pricing and displaying merchandise. The position is supervised by the Store Manager.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED

• Availability and flexibility to work different schedules as needed

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work as a team member cohesively with supervisors, employees, volunteers and the community

• Ability and willingness to work effectively with diverse people and populations

• Ability to receive direction and follow through with minimum supervision

• Ability to represent the organization in a positive manner and foster a friendly, courteous, professional environment and act in a kind, decent manner at all times

• Strong organizational and administrative skills

• Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills

• Computer experience

• Ability to embrace the mission and culture of the organization

• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist with opening and closing the store as assigned

• Cash register operations, accepting money and making change

• Responsible for end of day procedures for cash including assistance with bank deposits and taking the deposits to the bank

• Greet and assist customers and show appreciation for their business

• Assist donors with loading/unloading and issue receipts for donations

• Sort, price and display merchandise

• Keep check out area clean and keep display cases/shelving clean as time allows

• Provide direction and guidance to volunteers in the absence of the store manager

• Take calls and schedule donation pick-ups.

• Be able to provide customers with accurate information about Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont, Inc. and how the store supports our program, if asked.

• Perform related duties as assigned or needs arise

• Support the overall culture of the organization

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $13.00 per hour
