Job Description
The Reliability Supervisor is responsible for overseeing reliability for operating the PGA plant in Belle. This position will assist in leading the maintenance and reliability efforts to support the achievement of overall operational objectives related to personal safety, Reliability Team personnel safety, production, cost, process safety, equipment reliability/availability and manpower utilization.
Position Responsibilities - Essential |
- Accountable for all site maintenance (routine and turn-around) and reliability activities
- Ensure compliance with all applicable personnel safety and process safety regulation (Ex: employee safe work practices and equipment testing and inspections)
- Ensure a cost-effective maintenance and reliability organization through the optimal allocation of resources
- Understand role(s) in the Maintenance and Reliability work process and identify opportunities for improvement
- Drive improvement of maintenance and reliability performance through the use of key performance indicators
- Provide leadership for maintenance and reliability personnel
- Schedule/execute small and large scale maintenance request, (Maintenance Work Process)
- Update customer pertaining to work in progress, cost, and status
- Assign work and direct the reliability team workers to ensure the quality and timely execution of work requests
- Lead and/or assist in investigations (safety/personnel/equipment) as needed
- Issue corrective actions as needed
- Assist with recruiting and employee relations
- Manage off hours requests of the site
- Complete timesheets for reliability team workers
- Track overtime and headcount as requested by the Customer
- Responsible for career development of personnel and succession planning
- Coordinate projects; communicate changes and progress; complete projects on time and within budget; manage project team activities
- Collaborate and coordinate multiple projects at once
- Walking down and signing LOTO’s, hanging supervision locks, permitting work for the reliability work group and sub-contractors
- Completing post-job walkdown/inspection for quality and housekeeping.
- Reviewing work order documents for completion and signature.
- Reviewing the software system for checking hours, information and closing the work orders
- Seek opportunities to improve and promote quality
- Align work with strategic goals
- Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities
- Support the achievement of overall site operational objectives related to safety, health, environment, production, cost, equipment reliability, equipment availability and manpower utilization
Position Responsibilities - Non-Essential/Other |
- Oversee efforts to maintain plant site systems for equipment documentation, training, maintenance, reliability, and spare parts
- Monitor timely completion of safety, environmental, and equipment related corrective actions to meet site management expectations
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
Essential Skills and Experience |
- 10 years of Chemical plant experience in maintenance
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills
- Ability to work effectively with Reliability Team (Customer’s and GreenWood’s)
- Knowledge of CMMS / ERP (e.g., SAP)
- Effective user of Microsoft Office Programs; Word/Excel and Microsoft Project
- Ability to lead a large team
- Professionalism, integrity, effective communication, interpersonal skills, with ability to multi-task, with urgency, and strong customer relations skills
- Strong understanding of business implications of decisions (work design, delays, purchases, impact on budget, etc.)
- Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness
- Ability to self-assess own strengths and weaknesses, pursue training and development opportunities, and strive to continuously build knowledge and skills, while sharing expertise with others
- Demonstrate understanding of maintenance and reliability “best practices”
- Fundamental understanding of PSM systems and hazardous processes (OSHA 1910.119)
- Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture
