Greenwood Mills, Inc., a family-owned textile manufacturing business located in Greenwood, SC that makes cloth for our US Military, employee uniforms, and more! We have been in business for more than 130 years!
Currently seeks motivated employees to run warper machine, making beams that meet requirements of warping order and locate and repair broken ends, record yarn and set information.
Job Objective :
- Set warper to run beams according to warping order specifications.
- Locate and repair ends.
- Record stops and set information.
- Break ends and turn creel.
- Thread drop wires and pull ends to the front.
- Lay ends in expansion comb. Doff beam.
- Weigh beam, record weight, and make out ticket.
- Blow off warper and creel.
- Weigh waste and record.
- Push racks or pallets of yarn as necessary - 900 lbs.
- Creel packages as necessary - 10 lbs.
- Sweep out creel as necessary.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Must be able to stand on an 8" rail 1 foot off the floor, reach 6 feet high, and creel 10 lb packages.
- Must be able to work safely around moving parts.
- Must be able to enter data into data boards
- Must be able to read basic written instructions.
- Must be able to perform simple math
- Must be able to distinguish colors.
- Must be able to wear ear plugs, respirator / dust mask, goggles / eye protection, and other protective pieces of equipment.
- Must be able to meet Plant schedules and attendance requirements as specified in Company Policies
Schedule :
2nd shift : 4pm - 12am (train on 1st shift 8am - 4pm)

Pay rate : $14.25 Hourly $1.00 shift premium
