Position Requirements
High School Diploma required along with previous experience as cashier, front end manager or management level associate in a grocery retail environment.
Employment at Greer’s may be contingent upon completion of PEP survey, drug screen, employment reference check, criminal background check, and/or credit check.
Basic Skills & Physical Requirements
- As a Personal Shopper with Greer’s Curbside Pick Up and Delivery business, everything I do is aimed at building relationships with my team and customers and providing a positive online shopping experience for each customer.
- Personal Shoppers should always be in dress code, name badge, personal appearance nice and neat, respectful and friendly.
- I will demonstrate responsible behavior, thoroughness of work and dependability.
- I will consistently demonstrate compliance with Greer’s policies and procedures, including regular and timely attendance, adherence to dress code and ensuring a safe work environment, and a willingness to complete other duties as assigned.
- I will encourage an atmosphere of teamwork by my own actions and encourage cooperation and trust within the store team. I will show a high concern for the rights, values and worth of others.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to interpret, understand and follow instructions.
- Ability to operate the Personal Shopper shopping cart and iPad and follow picking, storing and delivering to customer curbside process in accordance with GGTG Guidelines.
- Ability to move, lift, carry and place merchandise and supplies weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. Frequently reaches overhead and below the knees, including pushing, pulling, squatting, kneeling, bending, stooping, crouching, and twisting with or without bearing weight.
- Continuous repetitive motion with hand(s) and arm(s), such as grasping, gripping and turning.
- Standing and/or walking continuously throughout shift without a break for up to 4 hours.
- Ability to visually locate merchandise and other objects, as well as verify information, often in small print.
- May be exposed to all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, wind, ice or snow), as well as inside work with variations of heat, cold, dust and humidity; May be exposed to chemicals or allergens (such as latex, eggs, nuts, soy, wheat, etc).
Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Essential Duties:
Picking Process: The quality of the products selected for customers is paramount and should be exceptional, particularly Fresh Meats, Produce and Deli Bakery. No close dated or out of date product should ever be selected for a customer. When making substitutions (unless customer marks “no subs”), Personal Shoppers use their best judgment and choose the closest item to what was ordered. A call or text to the customer when in doubt is worth the time.
Phone Etiquette: Personal Shoppers must be good communicators. It is an important part of what is expected each day. I am to keep the phone charged and on at ALL times, making sure the volume level is HIGH to hear a ring or text, Phone should be answered within 3 rings and NEVER unanswered. Speaking in a friendly, polite and professional manner is expected.
Delivering Orders Curbside: Personal Shoppers and all front end Associates and Management Team are trained to pull a customer’s order when they arrive for pick up. From the time the call or text comes in from the customer notifying the store they have arrived curbside, it should take a maximum of 3-5 minutes to get out to the customer’s vehicle. It is equally important that I get to the customer quickly AND have all of their bags. It is against Company policy to accept tips.
