Position: LPN
Department: Griffin Faculty Physicians
Reports To: Practice Manager
Job Responsibilities:
· Provides administrative support by checking in patients, collecting co-pays, answering phones and scheduling appointments.
· Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned, including organizing patient flow, preparing exam rooms, accompanying patients to exam rooms, collecting patient history, charting, collecting specimens, relaying instructions to patients, and assisting patients as necessary.
· Collects specimens from patients and performs basic lab testing as required
· Assists doctor with physical exam and office procedures as necessary
· Manages and updates patient medical records.
· Maintains inventory of clinical equipment and supplies, including ordering and restocking when necessary.
· Performs blood draws as needed.
· Clinical Lead for PCMH certification committee
· Works with Practice Director/RN Quality Manager/Practice Manager to lead organizational initiatives/workflows with quality care cap closures for major insurance payers (ex: Medicare Annual Wellness Visits, Pre-Visit Planning)
· Trains any new LPNs to organizational standards
Education:
- High School or GED
- LPN from accredited school of nursing and active CT LPN license.
- BLS required
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year experience in nursing.
- Must have strong communication and organizational skills.
- Experience in primary care is preferred.
- Experience with computerized practice management systems and electronic health record is strongly preferred.
