A Web Content Producer at News On 6 helps drive the Ideal Team Player culture.
Job Summary: As a Web Content Producer you will be responsible for gathering, writing, editing and posting stories to station websites and apps. You will clip videos both for the station websites and apps.
Job Responsibilities:
- Writing, editing, and researching news content.
- Responsible for updating the station social media accounts.
- Optimizing, editing, and posting video and other multimedia content for all digital platforms.
- Work with broadcast news producers, reporters, and photojournalists to achieve online/on-air product integration and make sure stories are posted and updated in a timely manner.
- Proof stories for content and grammar, ensuring news meets legal and journalistic standards.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Job Schedule: This is a full-time position primarily working 40 hours per week. You may also be called upon at times to fill in other hours and days of the week to help cover vacations, illnesses, holidays, breaking news, severe weather, or special projects/events. This position may be eligible to work remotely on occasion and at the discretion of the supervisor.

Skills and Requirements:
- Formal education equivalent of BS degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field. Related experience will be evaluated by Company management and may be substituted on the basis of two years of experience equals one year of education.
- A minimum of three to five years’ TV Newsroom experience preferred.
- Must understand the basics of network wire services, monitor video news feeds, make needed phone calls to obtain information, organize stories and post to website and all station digital platforms.
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Web production and solid headline writing skills are preferred.
- Strong command of current events, including local news, national news, world news and sports.
- Knowledge of personal computers, social media, digital strategies, and the ability to learn new systems.
- Proficiency in content creation for vertical video social platforms is required.
- Ability to perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Capable of handling the physical and mental requirements including:

- ability to remain sedentary and to travel to work location
