QS Lab Tech - GFLI - Plant Quality
Summary: Provides laboratory and technical assistance to Manufacturing and Quality Systems. Following general procedures in performing laboratory tasks and inspection of packaged products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support personal safety and food safety by enforcing company policies and procedures.
Conduct basic sensory, physical, and chemical tests on finished products and raw ingredients.
Evaluate Bill of Material for completeness and proper documentation.
Perform cook-ups and orgaancleptic anaysis on raw materials and finished goods to assure they meet specifications.
Record test data and maintain workl list in Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Maintain/Calibrate laboratory equipment at prescribed frequencies.
Investigate and report nonconformities with root cause and immediate corrective actions in LIMS.
Perform required floor inspections of manufacturing equipment, storage equipment, and sanitation cleaning.
Conduct process inspections for compliance and continuous improvement.
Participate in check sample program with outside institution(s) and in internal proficiency program to verify accuracy.
Follow proper GMPs and GLPs.
Use proper Personal Protective Equipment, as necessary.
Raw Material testing and COA review and filing as needed.
Requirements:
Associates degree in a natural science such as Food Science, Chemistry or Biology with 1 year of laboratory experience preferred.
High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of experience in food manufacturing and/or laboratory setting.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Effective Englis verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
Ability to be trained in QS Technician learning plan witing 3 months of employment.
