Summary:

This position is responsible for leading the Continuous Process Improvement initiatives for the organization through the complete solution lifecycle including: identifying opportunities, evaluating business processes, translating business requirements into system requirements, developing and implementing solutions, training employees, monitoring new processes and providing ongoing support. This position and personnel within this department are tasked with achieving year over year savings in excess of the departments total budget and spend through targeted cost reductions.


Primary responsibilities for role:

  • Work with key stakeholders to drive process improvements that quantitatively and qualitatively improve costs, quality, production and service. Process owner of business data for costing (BOM”s and routings) and improvement activities
  • Assess challenges, metrics, productivity and effectiveness of processes and systems for improvement in business objectives. This will include analysis of areas such as labor, costs,
  • operational metrics and data, compliance, complaint mitigation, training and internal systems.
  • Lead cross functional teams in developing effective processes, procedures and solutions to meet business needs.
  • Develop and implement solutions for complex processes, projects and business requirements.
  • Train and educate the organization. Implement continuous improvement methodologies including, but not limited to 5S, Lean Principles, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and others. Primary Operations source for costing data (routings, lot sizes, labor standards, final costing, budget analysis, etc…) for all financial inputs to the Director of Finance.
  • Provide training on new processes for improvement to managers, team leaders, and direct employees. Monitor and report on results.
  • Focus on company-wide and inter-departmental processes that require a high degree of collaboration and communication.
  • Lead and facilitate continuous improvement meetings as appropriate on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis with the Operation's leadership team(s).
  • Other tasks and assignments as instructed by management.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Subject Matter Expert in the principles of Lean Manufacturing. Demonstrated knowledge of safety, quality, and manufacturing programs. Demonstrated understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and ability to implement effective improvement strategies and solutions. Excellent interpersonal and organizations skills, ability to handle diverse situations and manage multiple strategic projects. Strong verbal, written and presentation skills.


Education:

College degree in business or engineering preferred.


Experience:

Requires a minimum of 8 years of successful continuous process improvement experience.


Equivalency:

Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements. Example: If a job level requires a Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience, an equivalency could include 8 years of experience, an Associate’s degree with 6 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 2 years of experience.


Occupational Demands:

  • May occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise manipulate objects up to 25 pounds in weight, and/or lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise manipulate objects up to 10 pounds in weight frequently or continuously.
