JOB TITLE: SUMMER HELP 2023
WORK LOCATION: VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN ARVIN, LAMONT, BAKERSFIELD AND SHAFTER
COMPENSATION: $15.50 / HOUR
REPORTS TO: TBD
PURPOSE:
The Summer Help position provides a paid work experience for 10 to 12 weeks during the summer break for students attending high school and college. Children of current Grimmway employees receive priority in placement.
JOB EXPECTATIONS:
Work locations are company facilities located in Arvin, Lamont, Bakersfield, and Shafter. The work schedule is typically during the daytime and Monday through Friday. Students are expected to have reliable transportation and attendance, be ready to start work on time each scheduled work day, maintain and submit an accurate weekly timesheet, take required meal and rest breaks, follow all company policies and procedures and work safely.
JOB OPPORTUNITY:
The number of Summer Help positions available and variety of work opportunities changes annually. In the past, students have worked in the departments of Inventory, Purchasing, Farming, Operations, Accounting, Quality, Sales, Shipping, and Safety. Work may be inside and/or outside, require sitting, walking, and/or standing, speaking, reading, and/or writing in English. Basic skills in data entry, counting, alphabetical and numerical filing, physical organization, copying, scanning, packing/unpacking and labeling, and light cleaning may be required.
On the job training is available to assist students just entering the workforce for the first time. All work placements and assignments are fully compliant with work permit requirements.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Sixteen is the preferred minimum age to work and a Work Permit is required for minors who are not yet graduated from high school. Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen, physical and functional capacity evaluation and background check if required for position.
