Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Always operate safely and within standard operating procedures.

· Perform set up; determine the tooling, feeds, speeds, etc.

· Operate the Blanchard machine safely while making good parts at rate. Notify manager of any safety, quality, machine or productivity issues immediately.

· Verify dimension of ground workpiece for conformance to specifications, using such measuring instruments as micrometers, dial indicators, and gauge blocks.

· Communicate effectively with other employees and managers as part of the Team.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

· Experience as a Blanchard machine operator. Can read and interpret prints/drawings and design and implement a setup. Attention to detail in regard to print and processing requirements. Will periodically need to lift heavy objects.

· Usual 1st shift hours are Monday - Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm or 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Usual 2nd shift hours are Monday - Thursday 3:00 pm to 1:30 am. There is potential for overtime (OT) during the week, Friday’s for 2nd shift and weekends (Saturdays and/or Sundays). The ability to work OT and be flexible is a must.

· Must be honest and punctual. Arrive ready to work on time and no hiding bad parts.

· Good communication skills. Communicate effectively with teammates and complete all shop floor paperwork accurately, completely and neatly.

· Basic math skills; addition, subtraction and multiplication.

· Proficient in the use of analog micrometers and calipers.

· Will need to provide and wear steel or composite toe non-slip shoes. Uniforms are provided and cleaned.
